It features the VAS shield mechanism, improved ventilation, and an odor resistant liner, making it the ideal flagship model. Note: Fluorescent finishes on certain models of Arai helmets are not covered by warranty and may fade with age and environmental exposure.

Internal Air Channel Improved ventilation with an enhanced air extraction system, pulling hot/moist air from the eye port area through ducted channels behind the cheek pads that exhaust out the side cowl vents, keeping the rider cool and helping to reduce fogging
PB-SNC2 Shell Z Resin developed and blended in-house, bonds the many layers and materials of the shell more securely using less resin, improving shell strength as well as reducing weight
Super Fiber and special synthetic reinforcing fibers allows for a stronger, yet lighter shell with excellent Glancing Off properties
The addition of the internal Structural net and Peripheral Belt further strengthens the shell with minimal increase to weight or thickness
Shield Latch The Variable Axis System (VAS) latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to help resist unexpected opening
VAS Shield Mechanism By combining the pin trajectory with the two trajectories of the double pivot point slot, the shield opens and closes smoothly even with the much lower shield mount position
Dual-function lever releases both the side cover/pod and shield pin for quick and simple shield removal
Larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation, even with heavy gloves
Shield has a positive stop to resist unintentional opening, even in the de-mist position, but with a slight pull on the lift tab to clear this stop the shield simply lifts with ease
IC Duct5 Uses a three-position slide gate to improve sealing for reduced noise and water intrusion
Vents are lightly mounted to remain frangible and easily come off in an impact so as not to snag on obstacles or cause excess rotational force

Excellent jacket, great fit. Just wish it came with level 2 armor!

It’s a worthwhile investment. Little longer than my other jackets which is nice. If only it had Level 2 armor….on back order for another $125 or so I guess

Amazing jacket! Amazing customer service!

This jacket has far superior air flow and is much more comfortable than any previous jacket I’ve owned. Well worth the money!
Also, the customer service received was phenomenal! I had a question, on a Sunday night, texted the number on the website and had a response within minutes. Who else does that!? An actual response, from a human, on a Sunday night! I will never buy gear from anywhere else. Thoroughly impressed with both the jacket and the customer service!

The HJC i31 helmet was a good choice for me as I updated from another HJC open face helmet that was over 5 years old. Like the last helmet, this one is comfortable and has features and styling that I like a lot.

Outstanding helmet! The Arai Contour-X is extremely comfortable, well-built, and feels premium in every detail. The fit is excellent, ventilation works great, and it feels very stable while riding. The Samurai 3 graphic looks even better in person. You can really see the quality and craftsmanship Arai puts into its helmets. Very happy with my purchase and definitely worth it. best helmet i own. definitely worth the premium cost.

so it turns out the expensive helmets actually are better. my previous helmet is a Bell Bullitt Carbon and it clearly prioritized retro styling over comfort. it is unusable with speakers and the ventilation is almost nonexistent. i didn't think the ventilation was that bad until i tried the Corsair X. wow, you can actually feel the breeze inside the helmet, drying the sweat off my lips and forehead. and with little to no wind noise! incredible helmet. super comfortable. if you live in a hot climate (i'm in Houston), the extra cooling alone is worth the price premium over whatever other helmet you're considering.
