Starting Condition: No motor, No rear Axle, Dumpster Wheel welded to frame, Nothing working
Beginning Process: Complete Disassemble, Teardown and categorizing parts needed to rebuild
Stage One: Sand and sent Frame off to be sandblasted. All 36 extra parts were bead and sand blasted in house at our shop.
Stage Two: Welding
of roll cage, transmission carrier, front shock mounts and misc. areas.
Plasma cut stock bump stops off to make room for aftermarket Works
Performance Shocks.
Stage Three: Sent
off to Powder Coaters along with 26 extra parts to be powdered Gloss
Black. Stock wheels and tires were junked and replaced with Douglas
Aluminum Wheels Custom Built with AMS Fox and A/T Tires. All Wheel
bearings, carrier bearings, seals and gaskets were replaced. Rebuilt
the stock reduction gear box with new gears and gasket. Rebuilt
Salsbury Clutch and Carburetor. The Motor was mildly bored and ported
along with a new Wiseco Piston One Size over stock.
Stage Four: Electrical
system was upgraded from points to a CDI Ignition for better
reliability. Motor was dropped into place with new motor bushings.
Added a DG Performance Exhaust and Uni air filter for increased power.
Added the Maier Aftermarket Fenders, got the Jaz Products Vinyl Seat Cover and Cushioning, added the Goki Electric Start for the FL250, took a stock Honda Odyssey Floor Tub and painted it Black, took off the rear 6-ply mud tires in favor of 2-ply more cushy tires.
Found the original replica Honda FL250 Odyssey Vinyl Decal. Currently experimenting with the Rands Water Cooled Head, however having trouble getting it to thermosiphon. Thinking of adding a water pump to get things going. Also looking to get a 73/74 CR250 Head and see how that works.
